County Administrator's Role

The County Administrator is the Chief Administrative Officer appointed by the Board of Commissioners. The Administrator is responsible to the Board of Commissioners for the proper and efficient administration of the affairs of the Clay County Government. The County Administrator performs these responsibilities through the various department directors and administrative personnel, who report directly to the County Administrator.

Duties of the County Administrator

• Ensure the Commissions policies are carried out.
• Assists in developing policies and goals for the county.
• Provides administrative leadership to the departments of the county government.
• Develops and presents an annual budget for the county.
• Strives for efficiency, effectiveness and innovation in the delivery and funding of services.
• Acts as a liaison between the elected officials and the county commissioners.
• Represents the commission on a day to day basis with the various boards, authorities and councils appointed by the County Commission.
• Effectively establishes relationships with the legislative bodies in neighboring counties and the State of Georgia
• Promotes Clay County in a positive and beneficial light by promoting economic development.

There will be a charge of twenty-five cents ($0.25) per page that is copied. An administrative fee for the search, retrieval, monitoring and other direct administrative costs in conjunction with filing a document request, will also be charged. This cost represents the hourly rates of the lowest paid individual who possess the necessary skill and training to perform the request.
